Grant Money

Residents and township trustees will need to keep an eye on announcements coming from the Muskingum County Community Development Director.

Over the next few weeks, the office will be holding meetings that will help provide community development money to assist homeowners in the Sonora Road area.

"They were chosen for water/sewer grants to assist the entire village with their sewage updates," said Shelia Sampson community development director. "We actually paved a road also so we thought it was a good area to target additional funds."

More grant money will be given to the townships which show the highest need and will impact the most from money.

"It helps if roads in the area need black top," said Sampson. "Some villages need new fire hydrants, which of course is a fire hazard. We address anything if there is new drains, sidewalks anything like that."

In addition $40,000 will be offered for the residents of Coopermill Road to connect to the sewer line. All meeting dates for project information will be announced in the future.
