A local retailer is asking the community to donate items for a good cause.
As a part of a national effort, Elder Beerman in Zanesville and the Goodwill are teaming up for the "Goodwill Sale." The campaign began in 1994 as a way to help put people back to work and to also generate revenue for the organization.
There's also an incentive for donating.
"We give customers coupons, and on Wednesday and Saturday is double coupon day for every single item they donate, they'll receive two. Normally for the rest of the event, it'll be one coupon," said Manager of Elder Beerman Annie Wolfer.
Elder Beerman has donated nearly 60 million items since the beginning. Wolfer said anything that is in good condition will be accepted.
"Everything, mainly what people bring here are clothing, shoes, accessories, small household items and on Saturday they do have a truck here so if they do have something bigger to bring, they will have people here to take care of that," said Wolfer.
The "Stuff the Truck" portion of the event will be held this Saturday in the parking lot of Elder Beerman at the Colony Square Mall.
