Elder-Beerman in Zanesville and the Goodwill are teaming up for the "Goodwill Sale."
Elder-Beerman Store Manager Annie Wolfer says the partnership began in 1994, and together, with the help of customers, they have donated nearly 54 million items to Goodwill. Over the years, the campaign has expanded to include 278 Bon-Ton Stores, Inc. The purpose of the "Goodwill Sale" is twofold.
"Right now it's such an important time to help out people and what better way to help out the community, especially with Goodwill. They train people and give them job opportunities, and it's just a great thing for Elder-Beerman to be able to help and partner with Goodwill to be able to do that for our community," said Wolfer.
Goodwill Dock Supervisor Timi Tate, from the Maple Avenue location, says this partnership generates business for both parties. She says it's a team effort that helps everybody...creating a ripple effect for locals in the community.
"It helps Goodwill generate jobs. It helps us get out in the community. Goodwill is a big part of the community of Zanesville. We like our name out there," said Tate.
The "Stuff the Truck" portion of the event will be held on Saturday in the parking lot of Elder-Beerman at the Colony Square Mall.
