Prom is just around the corner and some girls are receiving one very important item for free.
The Eastside Community Ministry in Zanesville was giving away dresses on Monday. High School girls from all over Muskingum County had the chance to select one from a collection of more than 200.
"The best part is when they come out with that big smile on their faces and you can see they just love what they've found," said Committee Chairman Sally Goins.
Goins said the event was created to help ease the financial burden of prom. The dresses were given away on a first come fist serve basis.
"If you can get a dress then all the accessories are much more affordable, the shoes and the jewelry and all that sort of thing so the dress is nice to get."
All left over dresses will be available at the ministry if you didn't have a chance to come out to the give-a-way.
