The Zanesville Police Department is investigating two overnight robberies. Captain Mike Baker says the first incident happened at the Speedway on Blue Avenue around 10:00 Monday night. A white male walked into the store wearing a black hoodie with a white logo, a grey ball cap and white utility gloves. Baker says he claimed to have a gun, demanded cash and fled the scene. Then, around 1:00 Tuesday morning a white male walked into the Moto Mart on Maple Avenue and demanded cash. The suspect was around 35-years-old and had a brown coat wrapped around his head. He acted like he had a gun, demanded cash and fled the scene. Police do not yet know if the two robberies are connected. The incidents remain under investigation.
