The public is invited to enjoy a delicious brunch this weekend and also help out two organizations who provide services for those with special needs.
The Zanesville Chapter of the Knights of Columbus is hosting a fundraiser this Sunday for Starlight Adult Services here in town and the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill. All proceeds will be split evenly among the two groups.
"NAMI actually helps train the police officers to deal with those who have mental disabilities in a way they can deal with them if they get out in public and are confused, things like that," said Treasurer Chris Kerby.
Kerby said they will offer all kinds of breakfast dishes and will be serving baked steak, ham, and spaghetti for lunch. He said they always get an overwhelming amount of community support for this event.
"It seems like those who don't have it to give, give more. Those are the ones that we really want to take care of and we want to give them something in return for giving their time and their money," he said.
It will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall located at 275 Sunrise Center Drive in Zanesville. Tickets will cost $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for children under the age of 12.
