Keep an Eye Out for Motorcycles

One man is sent to the hospital following a motorcycle crash on State Route 555.

It happened around 7:15 p.m. Tuesday in front of the Lighthouse Inn in South Zanesville. According to Trooper Jeff Fowler with the Zanesville Post of the State Highway Patrol, a motorcyclist on a borrowed Harley Davidson crashed while traveling northbound.

"The motorcycle traveled left-of-center, lost control and the driver laid the bike down," says Fowler.

Fowler says with more motorcyclists on the road as the weather heats up, they will unfortunately be responding to more accidents.

"Just everybody be careful on the motorcycles and everybody needs to remember to watch for them, because they're definitely going to be out there and they're a little harder to see than regular cars," he says.

Trooper Fowler says the accident remains under investigation. The victim was taken to Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital, Fowler says he was responsive.

State Route 555 was shut down while authorities cleared the scene.
