There's a different type of camp your children can attend this summer.
The United Way of Muskingum, Perry and Morgan Counties and the Muskingum Family Y are launching a three week science camp. It will be geared towards sixth through eighth graders.
The United Way investment committee contributed $5,000 to get the program started.
"This is something that United Way can do that is a return on investment for our donors and investors in United Way," said Unitied Way Investment Committee Board Member Blair Tom. "It makes an impact on our communities with a well thought out positive plan, so we're really excited to be a part of that."
Zane State College is providing lab space for the camp in addition to having one of its professors teach the kids. Executive Director of the "Y" Craig Miracle said this will help with the academic success during the school year.
