The cool and damp weather wasn't enough to stop some avid golfers tee off for a great cause Thursday afternoon
The Muskingum Valley Red Cross held their 22nd Annual Golf Outing at the Jaycees Golf Course in Zanesville. The outing helps raise money for the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund which helps victims of major disasters like tornados, flooding and house fires. Muskingum Red Cross Development Director Troy Alford says even with Thursday's weather, it still was a great turnout.
"We have about 21 teams today and we actually canceled two weeks ago and moved it to today because of the rain; it looks like it's going to hold off a little bit; it did sprinkle this morning but these golfers are determined to get out there and have a good time and raise money for us," said Alford.
They hope to raise around 20,000 dollars from Thursday's outing.
