Zane State College is gearing up for its future site of their Advanced Science and Technology Center.

Currently, the old County Home sits where the future facility will be built. Zane State President Dr. Paul Brown says they will continue to use the building for some educational and training purposes until the building is torn down. But more importantly, he is excited for construction to begin on the new facility.

"We are excited. We start this in 2012, maybe in 2013 really opening and having the opportunity to be operational at that time," said Brown.

Brown says the new facility will be great not only for students, but also the marketing of southeast Ohio.

"This is a critical period in the community. We have more students coming to college. We have an energy sector that's coming to this area. It's a great calling card for our area," said Brown.

The old County Home is expected to be completely torn down by the end of this year.
