Operation Feed

The Operation Feed campaign wrapped up Thursday.

Chairwoman Waynette Tackett says this year, the campaign struggled a little bit due to the sluggish economy and increase in gas prices, but they are fortunate for what they were able to accomplish.

"We've made a little over 20,000 dollars. We've collected over 20,000 pounds of food. So we feel very blessed that we've done that. It's just really down from numbers we've seen in the past," said Tackett.

The 20,000 pounds of food will be distributed among many different food pantries in the county.

"We have fifteen food pantries in Muskingum County and four hot meal programs and two special needs pantries and all that food is divided up evenly amongst all of those so we're really feeding a number of people," said Tackett.

Tackett says even though this year was slightly down for the campaign, she still cannot thank the community enough for their continued support
