A popular Y-City attraction will be getting underway this weekend.
The Lorena Sternwheeler will make it's maiden voyage this season up the Muskingum River starting Saturday with rides at 2 and 3:30, and there's even an incentive to help draw in those looking to get in on the first rides.
"Each rider on saturday will receive a coupon for Ohio Pottery and also a coupon for a free crock so it's fun to get to see what else there is to see and do so you can enjoy a Lorena ride and then go and shop at Ohio Pottery. On sunday, it's a sweet ride, and each rider will receive Bloomer's Candy," said Kelly Ashby with the Zanesville-Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce.
Ashby says there have been concerns among residents about the wet spring southeast Ohio has had and what it means for operating the Lorena.
"So certainly you'll want to call here at the Welcome Center and ask if the lorena is running because sometimes because of high water conditions, it will not run," said Ashby.
If you're looking to take a ride on the Lorena, tickets are available at Zane's Landing Park before the scheduled rides.
