Search efforts for 2-year-old, Anthony Joseph Tullius, did not resume today after he and his 3-year-old, half-brother, Ayden Leroy Cecil, drowned in the Muskingum River yesterday.
Fire Departments as far out as Philo and Duncan Falls were called in to join the search. Muskingum County Emergency Management Agency Director, Bo Keck said, communication is critical in these type of searches.
"It's a terrible event, it really is," said Keck. "But you look at all the support we've gotten from Fire, EMS and Law Enforcement, it feels good that all those people come out. It's just a horrible event."
Keck said, his duty is to serve as a support agency in these types of searches. By using a communication truck, he is able to link helicopters, land and water crews directly with Fire, EMS and Law Enforcement.
"I mean without communications, we've got boats starting clear at Philo and all the way up the river with the multiple channels we're able to talk right with those boats right from the trailer," said Keck.and with out that you'd just be lost as to what is going on."
The red cross also helps by providing rescuers with food and water.
