A major power outage in Muskingum County leaves thousands without electricity on one of the hottest days of the year.
American Electric Power Officials say around 11a.m. Wednesday a problem occurred when two transmission lines experienced an overload due to the high temperatures.
Officials say the lines then came in contact with some trees and knocked out service to more than 6,000 customers in the Zanesville area.
A helicopter is surveying the area to make sure there are no more problems.
Power was fully restored to the area around 2:30 p.m.
