When most people think of bikers...They think big, tough and macho....One church here in Zanesville is putting an end to that stereotype.
Rushing Wind Biker Church hosted the 9th annual Biker Fest this weekend. All biker's from surrounding states were invited to hear the word of God and take part in the festivities.
"We want them to know that they've got a place where they can come," said Pastor of Rushing Winds Biker Church, Michael McGuire. "Doesn't matter what they look like. We're excited to have them here at Rushing Wind. And that's the purpose of our ministry, to reach out to that community."
The church recently opened in 2010 and has already gained the support of many traditional churches. Biker, Vicky Brown said, it's a place her and her husband can call home.
"Not knocking anything else, but I love it here," said Brown. "It's all kinds of people. It's just all walks of life. Just come as you are, your comfortable here. If you want to wear your shorts you can, if you want to wear a dress, you can. I wouldn't suggest a dress on a bike..."
You don't have to ride a bike to join Rushing Wind Biker Church. Pastor McGuire said, 25% of their congregation do not. Service is held every Saturday at 6:00 PM and all are welcome.
