The State Highway Patrol says an accident involving a dump truck has closed Interstate 70 East at the Kirkersville Exit.

A dispatcher with the Granville Post says the accident happened just after 3:00 p.m. Monday.

Authorities say a dump truck carrying gravel crashed and ended up on its side spilling its load.

The driver suffered minor injuries.

Crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation are currently on the scene trying to clear the roadway.

Authorities say they hope to have that portion of  I-70 re-opened by 6:30 p.m.
