A larger crowd than anticipated came out Saturday afternoon to support a local fire department.
Saturday was the 5th annual Car Show sponsored by the Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department. President, Adam Siddle said, this year had a lager turn out than in years past with 63 cars taking part in the event.
Participant, Marlene Farley said, "We like to support the local fire department, because he was a volunteer fireman and my husband, which is deceased, was involved with the fire departments, and it's a beautiful day."
Siddle expressed his thanks for all the support and said, he enjoys taking the time to meet the community.
"Most generally we meet people at a worse term situation," said Siddle. "We like opening up to the public and doing things with the public like this, when we can meet them and it's a nice situation versus a bad one."
The event typically raises $1,500 that will go towards equipment and training personnel.
