Fatal House Fire in New Lexington

The New Lexington Police and Fire Departments were dispatched at 11:04 am Tuesday to a residence in the 100 block of East Jefferson Street in New Lexington.

When officers arrived on scene they were advised that an individual was believed to be inside the home. During their search, officers located a deceased victim.

Fire personnel arrived shortly thereafter and worked to get the fire extinguished.

The incident remains under investigation by the Ohio State Fire Marshal’s Office.

The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
