One funeral home in Southeast Ohio is helping soldiers one cell phone at a time.

Snouffer Funeral homes has been collecting used cell phones since November. To date they've collected more than 420 phones.

"It's an extreme honor for us to help in this manor," said Funeral Home Director Josh Snouffer. "We thank our military everyday for the freedom they provide us. This is our way of giving back."

Each cell phone is refurbished by Cell Phones for Soldiers and given one hour of talk time. They are then sent to a solider serving abroad. Snouffer said they receive three to five cell phones a day.

"It's really nice to see folks bringing them in they are just as happy to give them to us as we are to send them on," said Snouffer.

Snouffer said they will continue to collect phones at their locations in Zanesville, Roseville and Crooksville. Recently Cell Phones for Soldiers told the funeral home they were ranked nationally in the amount of phones collected.
