A state screening panel has unanimously recommended Muskingum County Commissioner Brian Hill become our area's state representative.

Hill will fill the 94th-district State Representative seat that was vacated when Troy Balderson was appointed State Senator.

The screening panel will recommend Hill to the full House Republican Caucus Thursday morning. The caucus will take a vote, and then he will be sworn in at 11 a.m.

The Republican Central Committee in Muskingum County will now be in charge of finding someone to fill his County Commissioner seat.
