Shooting in Cambridge

Cambridge Police investigate an early Wednesday morning shooting.

Officers responding to a 911 call of gunfire in the 400 block of N. Fifth Street found a man on the porch of the home with a gunshot wound.

While he was being attended to another man walked out of his home two houses north of the injured subject and told authorities he  had shot the man because he was attempting to enter his residence.

He was detained and taken to the Cambridge Police Station for questioning.

The injured man was transported to Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center and later by life flight to to Columbus where he's in stable condition.

The case is still under investigation.
