Golfers are teeing off to support local youth programs.

It might look like a typical day at Longaberger Golf Club, but proceeds from Monday's tournament will benefit the Carr Center.  Executive Director John Hajjar said the speech therapy, safety town and special riders programs will receive assistance.

"It's just nice to see that money is being raised to help us to keep giving these programs so the kids can have something," said Hajjar.

Hajjar says the annual tournament usually generates $4000 to $5000, and it's a special outing for the 60 to 70 golfers.

"The money for the Carr Center is very important, but I do happen to like golf and just seeing the people come together and enjoying this beautiful day," said Hajjar.

The event also featured a buffet lunch, contests and door prizes.
