First Friday of this month will feature more than just one local artist.

The 3rd Annual Y-Bridge Arts Festival will take place this weekend, featuring more than 200 visual and performing artists. Zanesville Appalachian Arts Project, more commonly known as Z.A.A.P has been a key component in connecting artist with the community for more than 17 years. Board Member Gary Graham believes the success of Zanesville's Art Festival will eventually become great competition for larger Art Festivals.

"Last year there were thousands of people came the bridge was elbow to elbow, railing to railing that's how many people were there," explained Graham.

The First Friday of each month is typically when Z.A.A.P introduces a local artist to the community but with the Annual Y-Bridge Arts Festival the typical First Friday event will now take place this Sunday. This month's featured artist will be Phil Turner- Turner moved to Zanesville at a young age, studied photography and has recently retired from Genesis Health Care System. Today his photography is a full-time hobby. Graham guarantees both shows are worth the experience.

"I just think that people shouldn't miss either show, the Y-Bridge Festival and the Z.A.A.P Open House on Sunday," said Graham.

The Y-Bridge Festival opens this Friday at 6 o'clock and will then continue Saturday morning until 9:00 that evening....Z.A.A.P'S Open House will take place Sunday from 1- 5 o'clock at their downtown location.
