The busiest road in Zanesville is now on it's way to getting a lot worse- before it gets better.
Maple Avenue's resurfacing project began Wednesday. The project will have two stages- beginning at the north end of the project near Route 60 and Shannon Road then slowly continue South to Adair Avenue. Construction will take place during the day hours due to over head electrical wiring posing a safety concern to dump trucks underneath if not seen.
Construction should near the busiest part of Maple Avenue by Labor Day. A flagger will be present when only one lane is open. Travelers should expect delays.
The project is contracted by the Shelly Company of Thornville and is estimated to be finished by the end of October.
