The days of the free flu vaccine in Muskingum County are over. Tuesday the Rambo Memorial Health Center announced it will be charging five-dollars for the flu shot starting in September. Executive Director Crystal Bebout says the program was changed this year due to the decrease in revenue from traditional Medicare and the increased competition from pharmacy and grocery stores for the vaccine dollar. Bebout says if you have Medicare/Medicaid and some select insurance plans you may still be eligible to get the free shot. The out-of-county fee for vaccines will continue at 15 dollars and 22 dollars for the flu mist.
