A Zanesville man accused of fleeing from authorities during a drug buy is arraigned Wednesday in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court.

30-year-old Jerome"J-Roc" Johnson appeared before Judge Kelly Cottrill where he entered a not guilty plea to charges of trafficking in crack cocaine, tampering with evidence and failure to comply.

Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz says August 18th Johnson unknowingly sold one ounce of crack cocaine to an undercover officer.

When authorities attempted to stop the suspect he fled and a pursuit began on Pine Street.

Johnson was finally arrested near the 6th Street bridge and Muskingum Avenue.

The drug investigation was a combined effort of the Muskingum County Sheriffs Office and the Zanesville Police Department drug units.

Johnson is currently in the Muskingum County jail on a $100,000.

He could face up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
