It's a story we first brought you in July...Myrtle the Turtle. A 4 foot tall, 8 foot long, and 6 foot wide fiberglass turtle...stolen. After several months, justice might finally be served.
Owner Barb Lloyd said the South Zanesville Police Department have followed a number of leads on the case and on Friday she received a call from the Police Chief confirming evidence of Myrtle's whereabouts had been turned over to the Muskingum County Prosecutor's Office. One juvenile and several adults could face charges.
"The juvenile I was told actually took a picture of herself on Myrtle inside of a building somewhere," said Lloyd.
Myrtle first went missing July 8th. The family originally offered a reward for a safe return with no questions asked.
"And we still would if we could just get her back in one piece, we would still offer that reward," said Lloyd.
At this time Myrtle remains missing. The Lloyds originally purchased Myrtle shortly after they lost their son in Iraq. Lloyd said however odd it may seem the piece brought joy to their family and neighborhood.
