A new marketplace in Dresden will help struggling families put more food on the table for less cost.

The Community Marketplace service provided by Forever Dads. The organization purchases dented or scratched items through leading grocery stores to sell at a reduced cost to the community.  Aside from being a benefit to shoppers- all store profits will go towards Forever Dads and their services.

"Our goal is if we can do a 12-20% profit margin," said Forever Dads Executive Director Burl Lemon. "We can return that back for programing cost and overhead we are moving forwards in the sustainability of our organization."

The "scratch and dent" style grocery store celebrated their opening Friday. Located on Main Street in Dresden the Social Supper Store condensed their gift shop to make room for the Community Marketplace. Store Manager Tim Nye said the store owners also help manage the Community Marketplace in Zanesville.

"We felt Dresden needed another option or opportunity to purchase groceries," said Nye. "So e opportunity became available and we offered space to them and they accepted."

The market is open Monday through Saturday and available to anyone.
