Authorities are still searching for the suspect charged in Saturday's fatal shooting in Zanesville.
On Monday 21-year-old Joseph Hampton was charged with shooting 21-year-old Dante Wolford at the Dairy Mart on Pine Street. Zanesville Police Chief Eric Lambes said Hampton is still on the loose, but police are doing what they can to find him.
"Currently, we're pursuing several leads," said Lambes. "We've received several calls from people that believe they've seen him. That's good, because there is a lot of information coming in. Our goal right now is to search every lead and try to see which ones are actually valid."
Lambes said the area where the shooting happened has already seen increased patrol activity.
"It's not like the area has been ignored," said Lambes. "Officers have gone through that Dairy Mart area for months and dispersed people that were hanging out, but they tend to come back, because they live in the area. It's just a hangout spot."
No motive has been released at this time, and the case remains under investigation. If you have any information, you can call the Zanesville Police Department at (740) 455-0712.
