An opportunity for you to get your flu-shot will serve as a test-run for the Local Emergency Management Agency.

It'll happen Tuesday at the Muskingum County Fair Grounds. A large flu clinic will be treated as a drill in the event of a mass immunization or other community emergency. The EMA will bring out their communications plan as well as all equipment.

"That's part of what we play as part of Emergency Management, is to help organize and get equipment and resources they need for any type of incident," said Muskingum County EMA Director Bo Keck. "Again everything we use for this we can use no matter what happens in our county."

In years past about 4,000 flu shots were provided to the community. Keck expects a similar number this year but does say unlike years past the shots will no longer be free.

"It's very important to get your flu shots, as we know it's very effective," explains Keck. "It's five dollars but any place else you go it's going to cost you a lot more than that and this is a one stop shop, you come in go through the paper work, drive through and get your shot and out the door."

The Fair Grounds will open at am Tuesday morning and will remain open until 7 that evening. Flu Shots will also be available at Muskingum University and Ohio University- Zanesville,
