Artists in Muskingum County can apply for a grant to help them pursue their dreams.

Applications are being accepted for the Ronna Bucci and Dr. Charles Dietz Art Endowment Fund 2011 Artist's Award.  Educational consultant adviser Terry Kopchak said the $500 grant can be used to further the recipient's career as an artist.

"Artists are going to have expenses for supplies," said Kopchak.  "They may have expenses to attend conferences and exhibitions.  There's also expenses to enter their own artwork in different shows and displays."

The award is presented in memory of Ronna Bucci, a young artist, and Dr. Dietz, the longtime director of the Zanesville Art Center.  Kopchak said there are a lot of talented artists in our area.

"When I go out of Zanesville and talk to other people, many have heard about the artists here and our first Friday art walks," said Kopchak.

Artists who live in Muskingum County or are members of the Zanesville Appalachian Arts Project are eligible to apply.  Applications must be submitted to the Muskingum County Community Foundation by 5 PM on October 17th.
