Applebee's in Zanesville served-up breakfast Saturday morning for a change...and a good cause

It was all for the 4th annual "Paws for Pancakes" fundraiser. The Muskingum County Animal Shelter invited the community to enjoy an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast with all proceeds benefiting the shelter.

"It's 100% profit for the shelter," explained Executive Director Larry Hostetler. "Applebee's provides everything. The restaurant, the food, everything. We don't have to pay a dime to hold the fundraiser."

Saturday's goal was to raise $1,000. Each breakfast cost $5 and was served to the customers by volunteers, staff and board members of the animal shelter.

"It's fun you know, a lot of the time as board members we're used to being together in meetings so it's kind of a fun environment for us to come out and spend some time together outside the shelter," said Board president of Animal Shelter Society Stephanie Hill.

If you were unable to make it out and would still like to make a contribution, monetary donations can be mailed to 1430 Newark Rd, Zanesville, Ohio.
