Thursday night was a special reunion for Mid-East Career and Technology Centers alumni.

Douglas Baker, Stephanie Glassmire, Michael Mason, Mike Rutledge and Mayor of Cambridge Tom Orr were inducted into Mid-East's distinguished alumni hall of fame.  Co-coordinator Shannon Kenily said a selection committee reviews the nominations and chooses candidates who have excelled in their careers.

"All of them have said in some manner that Mid-East has paved a career path for them to get them started in their field," said Kenily.  "It's just a nice evening to visit with them and their family members and give them recognition for all of their wonderful accomplishments."

Inductee Mike Rutledge graduated from Mid-East in 1971, spent 25 years in the Navy and currently works for the U.S. Government in Aircraft Accident Investigation.  Rutledge said he credits his success to his time spent at Mid-East, and he encourages current students to make the most of their education.

"No matter what field you choose to be in, go into it with a good attitude and be happy," said Rutledge.

This was the 9th annual induction ceremony.  Advisory committee members, administrators, students and alumni were in attendence.
