College Day

It was a one stop shop for many high school juniors and seniors thinking about their future college plans.

Zane State College and Ohio University-Zanesville hosted their 31st College Day Friday. Zane State College Admissions Coordinator, Jody Burchett, says the main purpose of the event is to give students an opportunity to view different colleges that they may not have a chance to travel to.

"We have colleges from all over Ohio, from West Virginia, Pennsylvania, even one from Kentucky so it gives them an opportunity to meet with college representatives and speak to them about their future plans at college," said Burchett.

Burchett says students were welcome to browse and talk with 64 different colleges and institutions. She says many students come prepared to ask questions.

"Financial aid questions. We do offer some financial aid sessions going on today at the same time as our college day program so that they have a chance to learn about not only about what colleges they might want to go to but how to pay for the college as well," said Burchett.

Burchett says about 1200 students came to College Day this year.
