Buying a car can be a stressful experience - especially if you have to haggle over the price.
A new online tool is saving buyers time and money as they search for a vehicle. AAA Public Relations Manager Kimberly Schwind said the first step is realizing that you may need to trade in that old jalopy.
"Earlier this year, AAA did a survey and found that more than half of people are actually keeping their cars longer to avoid the payments of a new one," said Schwind. "However, there comes a point in time when you're throwing more money into your old vehicle for repairs and maintenance that it may be more cost effective to buy another vehicle."
The feature allows buyers to build the new or used car they are looking to purchase, receive guaranteed low upfront pricing, and lock in these low prices with a price protection certificate that hundreds of dealers will honor.
"It's really something to help people in the process of buying a vehicle to know that they're getting the best price possible, but this should not be the last resource that you use," said Schwind. "You still need to go and test drive the vehicle."
