A barbershop will be the most recent addition to the more than 180 businesses in Downtown Zanesville.
Main Street Barbers and Stylists celebrated their grand-opening today. Previously known as Zanesville's Finest, the store is now under new management. Owners Leon and Ashley Droughn were unable to make it today due to extenuating circumstances but Managing Barber Prince Fields expressed his enthusiasm for the business.
"I love doing what I do and I love when the kids and grown-ups and stuff come in here and they are satisfied without he results of the hair styles we provide for the community," said Fields.
Mayor Zwelling said two ribbon cuttings are scheduled to take place next week providing more than 80 jobs to the area.
"Whether they are going to employ 82 people or less than 5 it's a beautiful thing in this magnificent country of ours," said Zwelling. "If that's not a sign that the economy is prevailing in Zanesville Ohio I don't know what is."
Main Street Barbers and Stylists is in the 500th block of Main Street in downtown.
