The Muskingum County Board of Elections has some important information you need to know for this year's election.
Director Chris Hamill says the Secretary of State has ordered that in person absentee voting will end this friday November 4th at 6 p.m., which is new this year.
"It used to be that you could come in our office and vote the Saturday before the election or the Monday before the election. That is no longer permitted," said Hamill.
As of today, over 5,000 absentee ballot requests have been made in the county which is not very typical.
"I think a lot of the people don't want to go to the polls anymore, possibly there work out of town, it's easier for them, they can take their ballot home," added Hamill.
All ballots must be returned to the Board of Elections by the close of polls on Election Day at 7:30 p.m.
