The Ohio State Fire Marshall’s Office is investigating a fatal fire in Coshocton County. It happened at 9:05 Tuesday evening at 46390 Millcreek Township Road 221. Public Information Officer Shane Cartmill says one person died as a result of the fire. The Coshocton County Coroner’s Office is working to establish the cause of death and positive identification. Cartmill says the fire appears to have started in a rear addition to the home in the area of a wood burning stove. The exact origin and cause have not yet been determined. Two State Fire Marshall investigators, Coshocton County Sheriff's Detectives along with firefighters from the Three Rivers Fire District are continuing the examination of the fire scene. The home is a complete loss. Cartmill says its unknown if there were smoke alarms in the home. This is the first fire-related fatality reported to the Division of State Fire Marshall in 2012.
