Goodwill Donations

Many of the donation boxes at Goodwill remain empty.

The store is in need of gently used clothing and household items in order to stock shelves and continue their mission.

"Our mission is to provide work opportunities, skills, development and employment services to people with barriers to employment, so without donations we cannot meet our mission," said Retail Sales Manger Connie Kimble.

In early summer Goodwill typically would see 100 donors a day. Now they see about 25-30. Kimble believes the economy may be part of the problem.

"They way the economy is they are maybe not able to go out and buy brand new so they are hanging onto their stuff longer," explained Kimble.

In order to make it easier to donate the Goodwill is setting up a truck at sites around Muskingum County. On Saturday, February 18 from 11a.m.-2p.m. at McCoy Crossing near the laundromat and on February 25 from 11-2p.m. at Jerry's Marathon on US 40 East and from 3-5p.m. at the Starfire on US 40 West.
