Kids in Muskingum County showcased their musical talents Sunday...
The Thursday Music Club hosted its annual Junior Music Club Festival Recital. Instructor Janet Slack said the festival is part of a rich tradition.
"The Thursday Music Club is celebrating its 102nd year this year, and every year at the end of March we have a Junior Festival Recital featuring students in Kindergarten through 8th grade. This year we have over 50 students participating," said Slack.
Students are selected by their instructors to perform various violin, piano and vocal pieces. Slack said each year the students are enthusiastic about having the chance to play in front of a crowd.
"This is an excellent opportunity for them to perform in front of their peers and then to meet students from other teachers and other schools in the area."
About 150 people attended Sunday's festival.
