Zanesville Police Investigate Sunday Crash

An accident in Zanesville sent two people to the hospital Sunday afternoon...

It happened around 4:30 near the intersection of Taylor Street and Oakwood Avenue.

According to Zanesville Police Patrolman Joel Tignor, a Ford F-250 pick-up truck carrying a trailer was driving westbound on Taylor Street when a Mercury Sable went left of center and struck the pick-up head on.

Two women in the car were taken to the hospital in stable condition. Two males were also in the car, and they were treated at the scene. The driver of the truck suffered minor injuries, but he was not taken to the hospital.

Tignor said he received conflicting reports from witnesses as to who was behind the wheel of the car when it hit the truck.

He said a citation will be issued to the driver, and criminal charges will be added after the investigation is complete.

Taylor Street was closed at Oakwood Avenue for about an hour as officers investigated the crash.
