With warmer temperatures and changing weather patterns, we're already into tornado season full force this year...
On Tuesday, multiple twisters touched down in the Dallas, Texas area causing devastation. Marlene Henderson with the Muskingum Valley Red Cross said to pay attention to the watches and warnings, and to act immediately, regardless of what you think is going to happen.
"It's really a matter of whether or not you're going to walk away, you know, completely unscathed. If you go to a safe place, seek shelter...Chances are you're going to be fine," said Henderson.
The National Weather Service will begin testing new warnings, using words like "catastrophic" and "unsurvivable" to get people to react more quickly. Henderson said when tornados occur, there isn't much time to think.
"A lot of times they can happen so quick, they can pop up so fast. If you know that, you know, a tornado's been spotted close to your home or in the area, listen for those, listen to those tornado sirens."
