A bicyclist was taken to the hospital Wednesday afternoon following a crash at the intersection of State Routes 60 and 555.
It happened around 5:40 p.m. According to Trooper Trenas Weaver with the Zanesville Post of the State Highway Patrol, 43-year-old Tammy Rine of Zanesville was southbound on State Route 60 in a Chevy Equinox when she attempted to turn right onto 555.
Trooper Weaver says as Rine was turning a bicyclist, 31-year-old Andrew Near of Zanesville, attempted to travel southbound on State Route 60 striking the side of Rine's vehicle.
Near was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital with minor injuries. Trooper Weaver says Near was cited for not following rules for bicycles.
