Woman Flees After Police Chase and Crash

The Heath Police Department is searching for a woman who fled a car accident following a police chase.

Around 2:30 Friday afternoon Heath police officers responded to a report of a suspicious man and woman near the Hobby Lobby and Target. Officers located the two in a Purple PT Cruiser near the Indian Mound Mall. The two led police on a chase that lasted 7.9 miles and ended when the car lost control near Flint Ridge Road. The two fled on foot and the vehicle was discovered to be stolen.

The Newark Police Department, Licking County Sheriff's Office and a Columbus Police helicopter assisted in the search for the two. The male suspect was located and is identified as 42-year-old Danny Workman from Newark. The woman was not located. She's described as white, blonde and wearing multi-colored shorts and a white tank top.
