One person was taken to the hospital Saturday afternoon after a motorcycle collided head-on with a car under a railroad overpass.
According to the Zanesville Police Department, a Louisiana man was driving his motorcycle northbound on Maysville Avenue when he went left of center and collided with a car, just after 5 p.m.
Z.P.D. Patrolman Duvall said the man was alert when police arrived, and was transported to Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital, with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the car was un-injured in the crash.
According to Duvall, the motorcyclist said the brakes were not functioning properly on his motorcycle.
Northbound traffic on Maysville Avenue was diverted to Seborn Avenue, and southbound traffic was diverted to Moxahala Avenue while officers investigated the scene.
Patrolman Jeremy Barnhart said the driver of the motorcycle will be cited with going left of center, and operating an unsafe vehicle.
