Zanesville Man Pleads Not Guilty to Assault Charges

Colt Lightfoot Pleads Not Guilty

A Zanesville man accused of assaulting two corrections officers was arraigned Wednesday in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court .
 

28-year-old Colt Lightfoot pleaded not guilty to two felony counts of assault on a corrections officer.

Zanesville Police Detective Sgt.  Ric Roush says on May 3rd, Lightfoot became belligerent in the visitation area of the city jail .

He says when approached by officers, Lightfoot assaulted them. Both officers suffered minor injuries.

Lightfoot was originally in jail on petty theft and criminal trespassing charges.
 

He's currently being held in the Muskingum County jail on a  $20,000 bond.
