It's time to announce the Zanesville Appalachian Arts Project's featured artist of the month.
Gary Graham has been painting for as long as he can remember. Graham graduated from the Columbus College of Art and Design, and after taking a break from art to raise a family, he picked up his paintbrush six years ago to continue his work.
"Everything I do now is acrylics," said Graham. "I have my own style of painting and my own way of starting and finishing paintings, which is not always how a lot of artists do, but it works for me."
Graham said he enjoys painting every day, and he makes house calls to brighten up homes and barns.
"It's always fun to have your own work up," said Graham. "If you're a true artist, you're proud of your work, and I am, so I like to show it. I like to talk to people about it."
Graham's work will be on display Friday night from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Z.A.A.P. Gallery in downtown Zanesville.
