The "Feed the Children" campaign had a successful turnout in downtown Zanesville Friday.
Avon's Distribution Center along with Christ's Table handed out boxes of food, household items and Avon products to families at Secrest Auditorium. Executive Director of Christ's Table Keely Warden coordinated the event.
"We got the applications out to the Muskingum County food pantries and we were able to bring 1,200 families here today to join in this great thing going on," said Warden.
Zanesville Mayor Jeff Tilton was also out volunteering, and was thankful for this collaboration with Christ's Table, Avon and Feed the Children.
"I truly thank them for what they're doing, I had a lot of thank you's and people are really happy for what they're doing, its a win-win situation for the community, " said Tilton.
The event occurs every year in an effort to help less fortunate families in Muskingum County.
