U.M.C. Bishop Visits Zanesville

A Zanesville church welcomed a special guest to its Sunday services.

Bishop Bruce Ough took to the pulpit at Coburn United Methodist Church on Maple Avenue. He's the resident of the West Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church. This isn't his first visit to Zanesville to deliver a message.

"I oversee a little over 1,100 congregations in West Ohio so a big part of my job is to be out among the congregations, and among the people," said Ough.

Ough's works has included training events, seminars and retreats in the areas of leadership development, spiritual formation and church administration. A large part of his role is knowing the members of the United Methodist Church.

"One of my responsibilities as Bishop is to visit our congregations so that I'm familiar with what's happening in them and I often accept invitations to preach and to spend time in conversation with the membership," added Ough.

After twelve years of service to the area, Ough will be transferring to a different part of the state this summer.
