America's longest running pottery gathering returns to Zanesville.
What started as a gathering by the river thirty-five years ago has become a sold out affair. Pottery Lovers group is hosting their reunion, show and sale starting Tuesday morning at the Holiday Inn Express on Spring Street. Members of the group have opened their rooms, giving the public a chance to glimpse and even purchase pottery from around the nation.
"Every room you go to will just be eye candy from one end to the other for those who are pottery lovers, if you like pottery you've got a big hit here," said Patti Bourgeois, Pottery Lovers Vice President.
The reunion will run July 10-14th. Events will take place all week including an auction hosted by Belhorn Auctions on Thursday at the Welcome Center, and a banquet on Friday at the Zanesville Museum of Art featuring a local as their special guest.
"Our keynote speaker is Keith Knight who's an Ohioan who actually worked with the Weller Pottery so he was very active in the pottery community in days past and he's a wonderful, wonderful speaker with a great sense of humor so we're all looking forward to hearing him again," said Bourgeois.
The Pottery Lovers group would like to thank the Chamber of Commerce for all their help with this event. For more information go to the Pottery Lovers website, potterylovers.org
